If you have been following us for a while, you will know that California has a special place in our hearts. We have been longing to travel, especially since covid didn’t allow for much traveling. But we were so happy we were able to make a trip down to Santa Barbara for this Santa Barbara House Wedding.
With the beautiful light in southern California and its warm weather, it’s hard not to compare it to certain places in Europe. So to bring a touch of the couple’s heritage into this wedding, we designed it to bring a bit of Italy to California; an afternoon in Tuscany. We are also delighted that this celebration is featured on Style Me Pretty.
An afternoon in Tuscany with the warm sunshine and elegant beauty, doing it all with an effortless grace. With a colour palette of greens and whites, we used various tones and textures to create that relaxed yet refined style.
Playing with the balance, we went for a loose romantic braid and natural makeup paired with a structured and elegant gown. An A-line silhouette that flows into a long train with a plunging neckline to create a classic yet sexy look. Contrasted to this elegant dress is a more relaxed style for the groom in a simple dark blue suit.
A simple but classic green and white colour palette, the stationery also included touches of gold and black to give it that elegant and sophisticated look without being too fussy. There is plenty of beautiful greenery that surrounds the porch at the Santa Barbara house, and we wanted to have that as the focal ceremony point without taking away from the charm of the house. Floral arrangements in various sizes and wooden pillars were used to complement the house while giving it a special touch.
The perfect place for the reception was the long olive alleé with stunning olive trees on both sides and plenty of herb bushes and shrubs. Draping parts of the trees with soft white fabrics, it created beautiful movement as the cloth fluttered and swayed in the breeze. The table itself was set with a soft and simple style with various candles and minimalistic plates and flatware. Tying in with the draping is a soft white cloth that runs down the middle along with white and green floral arrangements throughout.
With plenty of good food and drinks, a vintage sports car with the classic “Just Married” sign to end off the celebrations, this was a celebration that is elegant in its simplicity and effortlessly timeless.
We hope you enjoyed this classic and Italian-inspired wedding in Santa Barbara! Are you interested in getting married in California or elsewhere? Send us a note here and we would love to hear about your special day!
