As event planners based in Vancouver, we feel the city is at its best in the summer. It’s when the weather is warm and the sun is always shining. It’s also the time when many people get married, but also when many moms to be like to throw baby showers. We love planning and designing personalised events and this one holds a special place in our hearts because it was inspired by Winnie the Pooh! Scroll down to see what we, Vancouver baby shower planner created for this special mom!
Cindy has always loved Winnie the Pooh and so we created this celebration using the classic style of Winnie the Pooh. Playing into the setting of 100 Acre Woods, we wanted to use plenty of greenery and a colour palette of shades of green and cream for a soft and natural look.
The baby shower was an afternoon tea party, somewhat like the tea party where Winnie the Pooh enjoys together with his friends. From the table cloth, chairs, glassware, to food and drink selection, it was designed to create an elegant and intimate celebration. We also included some simple and fresh greenery to bring a touch of freshness and nature inside.
As event planners, we make sure that all the selections and recommendations are made in line with what the client likes and as well inline with the concept. The food selection was chosen based on foods that Cindy enjoys and they were made into small size as it would be for an afternoon tea. For drinks, as the weather was quite warm, we opted for fresh fruit teas and fruity fizz as refreshing thirst quenchers.
There was plenty of laughter and some tears as stories and memories were shared over the food and drinks. One special part of the afternoon was writing a letter to Cindy. Oftentimes we see that a lot of focus is on the baby and many would even write a special note to the baby. However, we believe that moms also need a lot of love and care so we asked the guests to write a special message to Cindy.
These letters were sealed and meant for Cindy after the baby has arrived. Perhaps during an afternoon when the baby is napping, or during the long lonely hours in the night when she is doing a night feed, she can read one of these special letters and feel the love and care from her closest family and friends.
This was a special afternoon not only for Cindy, but also for her guests who could spend some quality time together before the baby’s arrival. At the end, all the guests took home a small gift that includes a honey hand cream that is an ode to Winnie the Pooh’s favourite food.
