Hycroft Manor, a beautiful Edwardian mansion in the heart of Vancouver, is a popular choice as a wedding venue for wedding planners in Vancouver, engaged couples and also as a filming location. While it was originally built as a private home, it is now a clubhouse for the University Women’s Club. Located in Shaughnessy, a residential area known for its heritage buildings, it is in a quiet, yet central location in Vancouver.
One of our favourite things about working at Hycroft is just how beautiful it is. Majestic columns, lush greenery, and a view overlooking the city in the distance. It is also one of the rare venues in Vancouver where it is designed with old world architecture in the style of a mansion house. It brings that elegant European atmosphere and style that is so hard to find in Vancouver.

In addition to how beautiful Hycroft is as a wedding venue, it is also wonderful in terms of privacy. It is an enclosed area that is reserved just for your guests, so it can be an intimate and private celebration.

There are plenty of spaces and areas that can be used for both ceremony and reception. Popular choices for the ceremony are the Rose Garden and the Juliet Balcony. We typically suggest the Rose Garden during the summer months where there are plenty of roses in bloom or if you want a more garden wedding.

For smaller and intimate weddings, the Juliet Balcony provides a cozy and elegant space with the cityline as your backdrop.

For the reception, we love the terrace area where it is covered but guests are still surrounded by greenery and the iconic columns.

As Hycroft was built as a mansion, there are plenty of rooms throughout that can be used for various functions. There is the ballroom in the basement with a built in dance floor and also a hidden bar area for later parts of the night. The warm tones in the drawing room with classic settees and a fireplace is perfect for relaxing and also family or wedding portraits. If you are looking for something more distinct, the green solarium is bright and full of sunlight with a unique Tiffany glass ceiling.

This venue is perfect for the couple who love European or Old World architecture and appreciate classical designs. Especially for couples who value privacy, Hycroft is wonderful to have all your guests celebrating without worries of other parties or events happening at the same location.

One of the tips we will give for this location is that you can be creative and there are different places you can use for ceremonies that are not typically chosen.
As we have mentioned that Juliet Balcony is one of the most popular choices for the ceremony, we have changed it up a bit and switched the direction of where it took place.
Instead of having the ceremony facing the gardens, we had the ceremony right on the steps of Hycroft. We are the first ones to do a wedding in this style and we love how it showcases the beauty of Hycroft. With the grand mansion, majestic columns and the broad open stairs, it is iconic and memorable in the best ways.

Depending on the guest count and the day of the week, our couples who get married at Hycroft typically will spend approximately $1000 per wedding guest for a Hycroft wedding.
