Reflection
I remember when I was younger, I’d hear the older people say that time flies by as you get older. I didn’t understand it at first, but now every year seem to be passing by quicker than the last. I said in 2017 that the year went by quickly, but it seems like 2018 went by even faster, if that was even possible. The cherry blossoms came and went, all the weddings in the summer went by in a blink of an eye, and before we realized, there’s only a few days left in 2018.
Although 2018 passed by quickly, it was also filled to the brim with plenty of surprises, experiences, and memories. Plenty of new experiences, learning opportunities, and meeting some wonderful people along the way. There were challenges but also many moments worth celebrating. So through the ups and downs of this year, we want to share with you the things that we think made 2018 so memorable.
Highlights
Publications
Throughout this year, we did many events and editorial shoots. This year, we are so thankful that our events and editorial shoots were so well loved and many of them have been published. Whether it’s on Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, Once Wed, Rocky Mountain Bride, and many others, each one of the publications means so much to us. We are always so honoured to see our work being published and we are just so thankful and grateful for all the love and support.
Destination Shoots
As we are people we love to travel, we hoped that in 2018 we could do some destination shoots like we did in Portugal in 2017. We were thinking of doing 1-2 destination shoots, but ultimately, we were able to do 3. From Malibu and Beverly Hills in California, to Seoul, Korea, it was so much fun putting together these editorials. We also met some very lovely and kind people through these shoots and that means so much to us. For the shoots in Malibu and Beverly Hills, they have already been published and you can find them on our blog. Keep an eye out for our Seoul editorial shoot as it will be coming out in the next month in 2019!
Gratitude
We know that to sum up 2018 with these two main things doesn’t fully show all that we went through this year. But we chose these two because we feel like they encompass the theme of what we have learned and realized this year. To us, the publications and destination shoots are things that has been given to us as a gift and we are so thankful for each one. While we work hard to bring out the best in each event and editorial shoot, we know that it is not just our own efforts that has brought us to where we are today. Our heavenly Father has blessed us with various opportunities and the people we have had the honour to work with.
We are always so thankful for the trust that the couples have given us to bring their dreams into reality. It takes a lot of trust and faith in us and we are always so grateful that you believe in us. For the vendors that we have met or worked with this year, it’s always so encouraging and inspiring to learn from you. We are so thankful for all the love and support that each one has given us.There are ups and downs in everyone’s career, and we are so happy to have met you and to be on this journey together. And for the family and friends that are behind the scenes quietly supporting us, we are so thankful for all that you have done for us. Others may not see how you’ve been supporting us, but we see and we know how much love you have showered us with. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and your encouragement really is so important to us.
Each experience is a gift…
As it says in the Bible in James 1:17 (NKJV), “ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”. We know that everything we have experienced this year, it is from our Lord Jesus and He has chosen what is best for us. Sometimes we may wonder why He has withheld something from us, but now looking back at the year, we see that it was all for the best. Thank you Lord, not only for the wonderful gifts that You have given us, but also for the things that You haven’t given to us. You are truly our Lord and Father and we know that You have planned and guided us every step of the way. You have blessed us in so many ways and we are always so humbled and overwhelmed by the love that You show us.
Thank you for the gifts that You have showered us with, but more importantly, thank you for who You are. Thank you for being the unchangeable One and for Your mercies that are new every morning. For the things You have done for us, doing for us, and will do for us, we want to thank you and give You all the glory, honour and praise.
