If you take a look at our website or Instagram page, you might think that we are only wedding planners. However, if you look carefully, you will know that we actually do more than plan weddings. We also do other events like baby showers and bridal showers since we are event planners in Vancouver.
Twins Birthday Party
Recently we were asked to plan and design a birthday party for a pair of twin boys and this was definitely a special one with so many elements and interesting touches. There is also one special thing that set this birthday party apart and made it so unique and very fun for the kids.
They wanted a Minecraft theme so we wanted to incorporate as many elements of that as we could. We had a month to bring this party to life for about 50-60 kids and adults. From the invitations to the beautiful balloon backdrop and the signage throughout the house, we wanted to bring the kids into the Minecraft world and have a wonderful afternoon.
Outdoor Birthday Party in Vancouver
Due to the rainy fall weather in Vancouver, we had a few tents outside that allowed the guests to enjoy themselves without a worry. Inside the tents, there was a buffet with freshly made BBQ items and finger food. We also asked the catering team to create a special drink called the L&E Potion as an ode to the twins name and also the Minecraft game. There were also plenty of made to order treats such as cotton candy, caramel popcorn, and sugar art! The kids were so surprised and excited to see the sugar art being made into various shapes and designs.
Special Activities
There were plenty of activities for the kids to do throughout the party. Outside there was a playground area and organised activities and games for the kids to participate in. Inside there was a special area to for building lego, face painting and getting special balloon animals. But of all these activities, there is one very special one that all the kids were excited for and spent the most time at…the claw machines!
There were a total of 4 claw machines and each were filled with different toys and items. The kids were all ecstatic to line up to play and many would try again and again to get the specific toys they wanted. The parents wanted to ensure that all the kids had an enjoyable time so every child could have as many turns as they wanted, they just had to wait their turn. In the end, each child was able to get at least 2-3 toys, but some were so good at the game they were able to get 10! These claw machines were quite large and there was a lot of logistical planning that we had to plan out to ensure they were safely moved to and from the house. But seeing the bright smiles and the unending excitement from the kids, it made everything worth it.
A special birthday party
While we are known for our romantic and understated elegant wedding style, we also enjoy planning and designing fun events like this birthday party! From the sounds of their laughter and the happy shouts throughout the party, we know this has become a core memory for these two boys and their friends. We are so honoured to have been able to be a part of it.
